Comments from a few of our many satisfied customers:

I have been privileged to work with Kelly Paxman and the employees of Paxman Heating & Cooling on a variety of GSHP (geothermal) installations since the mid 1990's.

I would rate Kelly's knowledge, professionalism and competence as second to none as a ground source heat pump mechanical contractor. Kelly does not look at just one way of installing a system; he looks at the most effective and simple solution to benefit the customer, using the existing attributes of the project to the maximum benefit of the installation. Of key importance, he communicates and asks what the customer expects from the system and delivers it. Kelly does not make assumptions.

Paxman Heating and Cooling evaluates all aspects of a project before offering an installation quote - installation planning, maintenance aspects, quiet operation and comfort. By looking at all of the factors, Kelly makes informed recommendation to the client.

Kelly and his company can be counted on for quality installation backed by more GSHP experience that any other contractor in southwest Utah.

I have a geothermal system to heat and cool a 2500 square foot all electric home near Lake Powell. My average monthly electric bill is approximately $65.00, with my highest bill for a month of service being $100.00 during the extreme heat of summer and cold of winter. This system is simple and trouble free. I expect to recoup installation costs within the near future and enjoy increased property value over the long term. I'm glad I chose this system.

Heating and Cooling from the Earth

As a petroleum geologist I spent my professional career exploring for and drilling for oil and gas reserves in many parts of the United States. Following retirement from that field I moved to Springdale, Utah, at the entrance to Zion National Park and developed a small vacation home community designed to resemble the craftsmanship of the Zion Park Lodge and Ranger Cabins in the area. (see www.giffordpark.com)

To preserve the pristine environment and the crystal clear air and views of the soaring cliffs of the National Park, I choose to use the most environmentally friendly heating and cooling system available anywhere – a Geo-Exchange System. It ironically uses no hydrocarbons but derives its heating and cooling capability directly from the core temperature of the earth. It consumes no natural gas or electricity to generate its heating or cooling, but uses only a small amount of electricity to operate a blower, small pumps and a compressor. It produces no pollution into the atmosphere and costs only pennies a day to operate. With the soaring costs of energy this is a real plus for the system.

I have now installed this system in 10 homes and each one works perfectly. Owners of the homes are very pleased at the ease and quiet of operation, the comfort of the living areas of their homes, and especially the low cost of operation.

Kelly Paxman has done the actual installation of all the units and his knowledge and professionalism has ensured that each of the units operates efficiently and effortlessly. He designed and engineered each system, provided the ductwork, arranged for the drilling of the ground loop holes and installed all the necessary equipment.

I have said many times that I will never build a home for myself that does not have a Geo-Exchange unit in it.

My name is Dr. Barry A. Sherman, and several years ago, I decided to settle in Page, Arizona. My son and I wanted to build a house that was energy efficient. After taJking to several contractors, we decided to contact Paxman Heating to construct a geo-thennal system that could cut our electrical costs at least in half of what most individuals would be paying for a comparable home. Our initial cost would be more than conventional construction, but in the end, we hoped to recoup this money within five years. Our home is 5400 square feet in size and our current electrical bills run about $95 - $118 per month. We never worry about baving adequate hot water. The general construction of the home has also added to this reduction in electrical needs. We have been very satisfied with the services provided by Paxman as well as with the financial savings they have achieved for us.

We have had a ground source heating and cooling system since our home was constructed in 2004. We put it in despite our contractor trying to talk us out of it, and we are so very glad we did. It is unquestionably the best system we have ever had. It keeps a much more even temperature in our home than any of our previous dwellings. The air conditioning unit is indoors out of the elements, and it is much quieter than a conventional air conditioner. A conventional unit gets less and less efficient as the outside temperature rises. By contrast, the ground source is just as efficient when the temperature is 115 as when it is 80 degrees. It also uses the heat extracted from the house to heat our hot water, essentially providing free hot water whenever the air conditioner is operating. I believe our heating/cooling costs are roughly 1/2 of what they would be with a conventional unit.

Paxman Heating & Cooling designed and executed our installation. They had installed a large number of both residential and commercial units, and their experience was obvious. It is important to note that the ground source is only one component of the whole system. The placement and design of the ducting is critical to proper operation. This is where I believe Paxman did a really outstanding job. In every other home we have had the lower level was too cold or the upper level too hot. Our current home can be 10 degrees warmer in the lower level in summer and as cool as we desire in winter (our main living is on the upper floor). Kelly Paxman has an extensive background in sheet metal ducting design and installation and it really shows in our job. We are really glad we went with his recommendations. Our system has had only a couple of minor service requirements which Paxman took care of promptly. I have recommended ground source and Paxman Heating & Cooling to so many people I have lost count. I can't imagine building another house without ground source. It is well worth the extra cost up front just for the outstanding heating and cooling performance. The monetary savings on the back end are a nice bonus.

We chose to install a forced air Hydron ground source heat pump for the heating and cooling system in our new home in Kanab, Utah. After 6 years, we are still delighted with the system. It is quiet, efficient and keeps a very even temperature throughout the house. Maintenance is minimal-cleaning the filter on a regular basis. Our energy bills are low compared with other systems. The Paxman representatives have always been knowledgeable and helpful. We highly recommend them and the ground source heat pump system.

Kelly: Want you to know how satisfied I am with the Geoexchange Heating Cooling system you installed in my home. Going on 5 trouble-free years now and I'm very pleased with its performance. Would not hesitate; in fact would want a Geoexhange system in any home I would live in. It's been a pleasure dealing with you.
Thanks -

We are very satisfied with our Hydron ground source heat pump. Our log house is Approximately 3600 sq ft which includes a fully finished basement open on one side. The house is at 6,500' elevation in the edge of the Tushar mountains at Marysvale, UT. At that elevation we have bitter cold winters, strong cold winds in the spring and a high sun load all summer. The house maintains a comfortable level summer and winter and the power bills for the all electric house have rarely exceeded $100. The unit las required no maintenance other than cleaning the air filter since it was installed in 2000.

Sincerely, Bill Davis

We are very happy with the Ground Souree Heat Pump System that Paxman Heating & Cooling installed for us in 2002. It has been trouble free. This new system has made our home more comfortable and our electricity bill is much less than with a standard heat pump and swamp cooIer. Kelly Paxman and his installation crew have been wonderful to work wlth. We would highly recommend them to anyone considering Ground Source System.

Kelly Paxman installed our GSHP system in 2003 when our house was built. The system has met all our expectations and we feel was the best choice for our new home in Kayenta.

We decided on the Paxman GSHP system primarily because of the benefits of comfort, quiet operation (no outside noise), and cost of operation. Paxman Heating and Cooling was very fair, competent, and honest in pricing and installing the system. Our contractor told us that the installation was very professionally completed in a timely manner and one of the best installations that he has seen in over 40 years of building houses.

Our economic analysis of the savings on the operation of the GSHP against the higher cost of the system was a major issue for us. The additional cost of the GSHP system over a high efficiency non GSHP system was for drilling the wells and setting up and connecting the loops to our home. This is a one-time cost that is permanent with the house and will not reoccur when the GSHP equipment is replaced or upgraded in the future. We believe this initial cost plus the inflation will be added to the value of the house when it is sold in the future. The additional cost of the GSHP might be thought of as an investment with a monthly return in utility cost savings. As the costs of utilities increase in the future the savings will increasingly favor the GSHP system. Utility costs are paid with after-tax dollars so any savings here are tax-free. We estimate that over the past four years the Paxman GSHP has saved us 50% on our heating and cooling electric bill. This monthly savings increases the value of our house. We believe that a rational buyer should choose a Paxman GSHP.

We highly recommend Paxman Heating and Cooling for their high quality GSHP system, professional installation, fair pricing, and excellent service.

We have been most impressed with the high efficiency of our Hydron gound source heating and cooling unit since it was installed in 2000 by Kelly Paxman. Our all electric home is considerably less expensive to heat and cool than any combination of gas and electric HVAC systems of our neighbors. If we ever build another house, we will most definitely be installing another Kelly Paxman ground source heating and cooling unit.

In 2000 we had Paxman Heating & Cooling install 2 ground source heat pump units in our new home. Since then we have absolutely loved our system. The efficiency of the system and our energy savings have been great. Not only is the system itself a fantastic idea, but the way that Paxman professionally sizes the ductwork themselves makes it so that there.are no exceptionally hot or cold rooms throughout the house, which is just an added bonus. Another benefit we enjoy is the pre-heated water in the Summertime. Overall we couldn't be more pleased with our system, nor could we be happier with the Company who installed it. The people at Paxman are wonderfu1 to work with and couldn't treat their customers better. Thanks Paxman Heating & Cooling!
